The Faces You See Around Union

We believe that the people around Union make it what it is. This ranges from baristas to staff to the guests that walk through the door everyday. So, we wanted to introduce you to some of the people you may see around Union when you come in our doors.

michael baughman, Community curator

Rev. Mike Baughman is the Community Curator and founding pastor for Union. The editor for Flipping Church (2016), Mike is eager to encounter and support those on the innovative edge of church, non-profit and civic engagement. He has served as author, editor and developer for a long list of curricula throughSparkhouse Press and Cokesbury. Mike learned a lot about basketball while attending Duke University and then earned a couple of pretentious diplomas from Princeton Theological Seminary (they’re both in Latin and hang in his garage). A third generation Methodist minister and church planter, Mike married a sixth generation Methodist minister, Rachel.

jarrod johnston, resident

Once upon a time, Rev. Jarrod Johnston was a music theatre geek, a worship pastor, and collector of instruments.  He is still all of those things, but now uses them as a resident pastor at Union, after serving three years as a United Methodist pastor.  Jarrod studied voice at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, but has never been to the rodeo.  He also studied sacred music, with an emphasis in choral conducting AND divinity, with an emphasis on books, at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.  He is thinking about collecting another degree, but his brilliant wife Leanne has dibs on the next one.  If Jarrod isn't at Union drinking a Peruna Kick, he's probably at home playing with his two hilarious children, reading something nerdy, or cooking something for somebody.

patrick littlefield, RESIDENT

Rev. Patrick Littlefield is a resident pastor at Union. He works closely with the worship communities of Union as he learns more about how new expressions of church can be developed and thrive. After growing up in North Texas, Patrick studied at Southern Methodist University and Candler School of Theology. Patrick enjoys playing percussion and guitar, tennis, a good book, and a peaceful evening watching the sun set. At times he has been known to be a facial hair aficionado and to wear crazy costumes. Some day he will host Saturday Night Live or be a guest on the Ellen show, which he plans to accomplish through his budding YouTube stardom. However, in the years before he is that famous, he looks forward to sharing many delicious cups of smooth, exotic, dark coffee roasts through French press or jasmine green tea while getting to know the wonderful people of Dallas.

By the way... You should check out his YouTube!
